Codec Intel is operated by Martin Abuyuan in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Privacy contact
We are responsible for the personal information we control. Our privacy contact is Martin Abuyuan, Privacy Officer, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, codec@codecintel.com.
What this notice covers
This notice covers this website (codecintel.com) and messages you send us. If you called, texted or filled in an ad form for a business that uses our service, see the section below.
What we collect
- What you send us. If you email us, we receive your name, email address and anything you include, such as your business name and phone number.
- Website data. This site has no contact form, no analytics and no advertising cookies. Our host, Netlify, processes basic technical data such as IP address and pages requested, kept for a short time for security.
How we use it
- To reply to you and set up a call or demo you asked for.
- To keep records of our business conversations.
- To keep a do-not-contact list if you ask us not to contact you again.
We do not sell your personal information.
Where your information is stored
We use service providers to run our email and website: an email hosting provider and Netlify, Inc. (USA). They may store or process your information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under the laws there. Our contracts require them to protect it and use it only to provide their services to us.
How long we keep it
We keep emails with businesses that contact us for 2 years after our last contact, unless you become a client. Then we keep records for as long as our agreement requires. If you ask us not to contact you, we keep your name and contact details on our do-not-contact list for at least 3 years so we can honour your request. When we no longer need information, we delete it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information. These include two-factor sign-in on our accounts, access limited to the people who need it, and service providers with their own security programs.
If something goes wrong
If a breach of our safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
If you called, texted or filled in an ad form for a business that uses Codec Intel
Some businesses use Codec Intel to answer their calls, texts and ad leads. When you call one of them, our AI assistant tells you it's an AI. Your call is transcribed (and recorded only if the business has turned recording on and you're told), and the business may text you about your call. If you fill in a lead form on one of their Facebook, Instagram or Google ads, we receive your name, phone number, email address and what you submitted, and the business may text you about your enquiry. We handle this information on that business's behalf and only to provide our service to them. It is stored by our voice and messaging service providers in the United States. The business is responsible for it, so please contact them with questions or requests. If you contact us, we'll pass your request on. To stop texts, reply STOP.
Your choices
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Withdraw consent or ask us to stop contacting you, at any time, by emailing codec@codecintel.com.
We will respond to access or correction requests within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, contact our privacy contact first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top of this page.
